Zidane provides update on Hazard's fitness, explains Bale's omission ahead of Man City clash

Speaking ahead of the crucial clash against Man City, Zinedine Zidane provided an injury update on Eden Hazard and explained Gareth Bale’s exclusion from his squad, saying: “Tomorrow is a final for us. Hazard has had discomfort towards the end of LaLiga. He's much better now. He's fine and confident.

"Marcelo is 100% like the others. We're all ready. We need everyone involved. Our energy is all for tomorrow's game. I'm not going to explain why Bale doesn't travel. He preferred not to play. The rest is between me and him.

“When Hazard had the injury, playing every other day, it was hard to recover. Now it's all right and I hope it stays that way without discomfort.

“Hazard, I don't think he's in pain, playing every three days after his injury is complicated. Now he's had time to recover. Risk? You're going to see what we're going to do tomorrow, it's coach stuff. The important thing is that we're all fine and we're all fine.”

It looks like Hazard will be fit enough to start against City on Friday, which is a big boost to Los Blancos knowing the Belgian’s record against Pep Guardiola’s side.

While the situation regarding Bale is getting worse, Madrid will be focused on completing the comeback and progressing into the quarter-finals tomorrow after a 2-1 loss at Bernabeu.
