Canada PM Justin Trudeau reacts to Jonathan Davies becoming first Canadian to win CL

Alphonso Davies has become the first ever Canadian player to play in the Champions League final and to win Europe's most prestigious club trophy.

And after the final, the Bayern Munich star reflected on his achievement.

"Who would have guessed it a kid from Canada, Edmonton Alberta. Most people don’t even know where that. Where it snows I’m talking -40 weather, he’s now a Champions League winner," he tweeted.

This has prompted a reaction from Canadian PM Justin Trudeau.

"A historic moment - you made Canadians proud out there. Congratulations on the big win, Alphonso!" tweeted the politician.
