Jose Mourinho attacks Bruno Fernandes: ‘He’s on the pitch but not playing’

Jose Mourinho has been covering the Euros for talkSPORT and the ex-Man United manager has gone in on United's current talisman Bruno Fernandes for his displays at the tournament.

Speaking on talkSPORT radio, Jose Mourinho said: "I hope Bruno Fernandes turns up against France because he's a player with incredible potential, he can pass, he can score, he can get penalties, he can score penalties.

"He can score free-kicks – he has a lot to give. But, the reality is that in these two matches he was not there and Portugal has fantastic attacking players. We need that connection, and until now Bruno he's not playing."

Portugal kicked off their Euro 2020 campaign with a 3-0 win against Hungary before suffering a 4-2 defeat vs Germany.

Fernandes has been among the most criticized players of the tournament with the Manchester United midfielder yet to score a goal or register an assist.

The reigning champions of Europe face France on Wednesday as they look to secure a place in the knockout stages and the country will certainly expect Bruno to deliver.
