Tottenham Hotspur’s UEFA Europa Conference League campaign went off to a shaky start as they suffered a shock 0-1 loss to Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira on Thursday.
A goal from Lucas Silva was enough to down a very young and inexperienced Spurs side that was fielded by Nuno Espirito Santo.
Incidentally, Tottenham are now the first English club to lose games in each of the Champions League, Europa League, the Cup Winners’ Cup, the Intertoto Cup, and the Europa Conference League.
Tottenham, however, still has the second leg of their playoff final game to play vs Pacos de Ferreira next week and will need to overturn the deficit to move into the group stages.
