Arsenal finally ended a 15-game winless streak against Man City on October 9 when the Gunners defeated the reigning Premier League champions 1-0.
After the game, Mikel Arteta had a brief exchange with his former boss Pep Guardiola.
"Yeah, I talked with him [Guardiola] after the game," he told the Men In Blazers podcast. “It’s always like this, it’s very tense, it’s very emotional, a lot is going on in that moment, but after that, the relationship remains intact.
"I lost much more than I won against him but, to be fair, in the last two games when we won the Community Shield and now in the league, the feeling is totally different. [He said] 'Congratulations, you guys are a terrific team’."
Arteta worked as Guardiola's assistant coach at Man City for over three years before being offered a chance to take over Arsenal.
Now, his team is joint-top of the Premier League along with Tottenham, while City are a couple of points behind.
