Fears have sparked over Arteta's future following sudden links to Manchester City in the wake of Pep Guardiola's departure.
His current contract runs out in June 2025, meaning this is the ideal time to get him to commit to a longer term.
Watts claims Arteta's job at the Emirates is 'far from done' as he won't rest until he lifts the Premier League with Arsenal.
Despite the links to Man City, and briefly Barcelona, Arteta is not expected to leave Arsenal.
Arteta reportedly still believes in his project and would happily sign a new contract whenever it is offered.
