"We’re looking forward to Moises [Caicedo] starting the season with us, he’s a Brighton player under a long-term contract," Brighton chief executive Paul Barber said, as quoted by the Evening Standard.
“He’s probably one of the most exciting young midfield players in the world at the moment and we’re delighted to have him.”
Caicedo did not play in Brighton's pre-season clash against Rayo Vallecano and it was rumoured that it was related to his move to Chelsea. However, the Seagulls reported that his absence was down to a knock.
Brighton have recently rejected yet another Chelsea bid for the Ecuadorian, this time worth £80m. We've honestly lost count of how many bids the Blues have made for Caicedo, with them all being rejected by Brighton.
The Seagulls reportedly value the midfielder at £100m and are not willing to budge on their asking price.
