Among the things we saw for the first time during Sunday's draw between Chelsea and Liverpool was Conor Gallagher's performance in the No.6 position.
The 23-year-old's performance was not flawless, but he still gathered a lot of praise for the energy and dedication he showed in the position that would most likely be covered by Moises Caicedo if Chelsea ever sign him.
Matt Davies-Adams: "Conor Gallagher was everywhere you wanna be in that game. Tremendous."
Nizaar Kinsella: "Gallagher has been excellent defensively. He looks like the kind of midfielder both clubs need to sign."
Pys: "Some people won’t want to hear it but Conor Gallagher was fantastic today and has been all of pre season under Poch."
Tom Overend: "Conor Gallagher showed a lot of character today. In an unfamiliar role, his workrate and ball-winning made a real difference for the team."
SJftbI: "Oi that Conor Gallagher sacrificial lamb role to let Enzo do what he wants. Good dude university general"
ExpectedChelsea: "Gallagher was amazing today without the ball and did phenomenally well. Now imagine Caicedo, who can do all of that and also provide a stable passing base."
Dubois: "Wait we have Caicedo at home"
