Andres Iniesta: Coaching Barcelona with Xavi doesn't sound bad at all

Can you imagine the famous Xaviniesta duo taking charge of Barcelona one day? It could be an option, as Andres Iniesta has recently claimed.

Vissel Kobe's current captain tells Radio Marca: "A partnership of Xavi and Iniesta doesn’t sound bad at all, but it’s not possible at the moment."

He adds: "I haven’t said that I would like to train a certain team, but as time passes the idea of becoming a coach is becoming more appealing."

Iniesta also comments on Xavi's potential appointment as Barca's boss: "I would like Xavi to coach Barca at any time, but you have to consider how he feels or what he has planned. I think Xavi will be back at Barca sooner or later, but I don’t know when."

Barcelona approached Xavi last weekend to replace Ernesto Valverde. However, the former midfielder rejected their offer as it was 'too soon' for him to coach Barcelona.

Xavi is currently in charge of Qatar's club Al-Sadd. His side will play in the Qatar Cup final later on Friday.

As for Iniesta, he left Barcelona for Vissel Kobe in the summer of 2018. Earlier in January, he lifted the first-ever trophy for the new club, the 2019 Emperor's Cup.
