Deloitte: Camp Nou is the most profitable football ground

Highly reputable top source Deloitte publish the ranking of the stadium revenues for the 2017/2018 season. Eventually, this list is topped by the Barcelona's home ground, Camp Nou. During the course of the previous campaign, FC Barcelona earned nearly 145 million euros through the ticketing, catering and other stadium-based activities.

Real Madrid are slightly behind Barcelona as the Santiago Bernabeu stadium is named second in terms of the most profitable football grounds. Los Blancos earned 143,4 million euros during the 2017/2018 season. The top three is completed by the Premier League giants Manchester United with 'just' 119,5 million euros as profit.

The Camp Nou stadium has an outstanding capacity of 99.354 seats. However, it only gets full for the games against the high-profile opponents. Last season, for example, the 97.183 attendance was registered for the Champions League Round of 16 return leg against Chelsea while 97.939 attended the La Liga Clasico on 6 May 2018.

As for the current campaign, there is a certain dip noticed in the Camp Nou attendance rate. The same league fixture against Real Madrid was only attended by 93.265 while the highest number of spectators arrived for the Champions League fixture against Inter Milan - 86.290 people watched this game live. Perhaps, this figure could get improved further into the season.
