ESPN: Koeman is primary choice should Valverde leave

ESPN report that Barcelona see Ronald Koeman as the best replacement for the underfire Ernesto Valverde. Although there's no indication of the current manager's exit for now, things can develop pretty quickly with Valverde leaving after failing to secure the treble.

Sin Concesiones - the same source that broke the Koeman-to-Barca news - later reported that the Dutchman has indeed visited the city but only for house-hunting purposes. Koeman wants to but a new house in the capital of Catalonia and hasn't had any negotiations with Barcelona board members.

The original story suggested that the Netherlands national team coach has visited Barca's offices and the building owned by the club's VP Jordi Mestre.

Earlier it has been reported by the Evening Standard that Barcelona consider Koeman and Ajax's Erik ten Hag as the two candidates to replace Valverde in summer.

However, Josep Maria Bartomeu has told the media that the club wants Ernesto Valverde to continue: "Valverde said the other day that he has the support of the president and the board. He's the coach we want. We're halfway through a large project. He has a contract and we're very happy with him. Now it's about how the players recover from the enormous setback."

Should Koeman replace Valverde as soon as possible?
