Guardiola names the strongest team in the world - and it's not Barca

Manchester City are set to play against their main Premier League rivals Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday within Matchday 12. Josep Guardiola has shared thoughts on Jurgen Klopp's crew at the pre-match press conference, saying the Reds are the best team in the world at the moment, even ahead of his beloved Barcelona.

"For me as a manager, I said last year when we won the league, it was my biggest achievement because we faced my best contender," former Barca boss said, as quoted by the Liverpool ECHO.

"Right now they are the strongest team in the world. We know what playing at Anfield means to them and their rivals. We are going to follow our plan with though."

This term, Liverpool have enjoyed a better start to the domestic campaign than the Citizens. The Reds are on top of the standings with 31 points and have only failed to beat their opponents once drawing 1-1 against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

City, in their turn, are second with 25 points at the moment as they have dropped points three times this season already drawing against Tottenham and losing to Wolverhampton at Etihad, and being defeated at Norwich.

Do you agree with Pep that Barca are no longer the best team in the world?
