What's next for Antoine Griezmann? He is heavily linked with the Barcelona move even though he rejected them last summer which he announced in the highly controversial 30-minute-long 'The Decision' movie. However, the Rojiablancos' disastrous trophyless campaign could have possibly changed his mind while the Catalans still need a proper attacking star to partner Leo Messi.
There are mixed reports on Griezmann's future emerging this Tuesday. Madrid-based newspaper Diario AS insist the Frenchman is set to respect his brand new contract with Atletico Madrid which will only expire in 2023. His annual salary is reported to be at 10 million euros, one of the highest one in La Liga.
Moreover, Atleti boss Diego Simeone seems to be certain about his star's future, as quoted by Marca: "Griezmann is our captain and he is important for us, so I am not worried at all."
Meanwhile, Fernando Polo who works for the pro-Barcelona newspaper Mundo Deportivo, states otherwise. Apparently, there is an 80% chance of Griezmann ending up at Barcelona this summer. After all, his close friends at Atleti have all gone - Lucas Hernandez joined Bayern Munich while Diego Godin announced his departure as well.
Finally, another Madrid-oriented newspaper Marca support this idea as they reveal that the Atletico Madrid players reportedly consider Griezmann's potential exit as a real possibility.
After all, Griezmann's release clause is expected to drop from €200m to €120m which would be much affordable for the Catalans.
