Pique plays down rumours on alleged rift between Griezmann and Messi

The relationships between Lionel Messi and this summer's star signing Antoine Griezmann are believed to be rather tense. However, all sides involved always denied there could be any potential bad blood between the two. Gerard Pique addresses this issue while speaking at El Larguero as well.

He says: "Here, we magnify everything very much. Leo and Grizi get along, the same as Leo and [Ousmane] Dembele get along, or Leo with Pedro or [David] Villa. It's good."

Pique insists there is no need to compare the Messi-Griezmann relationships to the Messi-Suarez bond which is much stronger.

He continues: "With Luis [Suarez and Messi], they are almost like brothers. Just because he doesn't get along [with Griezmann] like he does with Luis doesn't mean they get along badly."

There were rumours that Messi was unhappy with Griezmann signing as he wanted to see Neymar instead. However, both players mentioned several times there were no problem between them.

Messi particularly shed light on this issue three weeks ago: "Obviously it's a lie that we didn't want Griezmann. Last year I said he was one of the best and the best are always welcome."

The 3-0 Eibar win on October 19 was the first and only match for all members of the so-called MSG trio to score in a single game.
