Jean-Clair Todibo has been called up for France U20 who will participate in the U20 World Cup in Poland. The Barcelona centre-back replaces Saint-Etienne's William Saliba who has picked up an injury. Dan-Axel Zagadou, Boubacar Kamara and Evan N'Dicka will be Todibo's competitors for the place in the starting XI.
France will face Panama, Mali and Saudi Arabia in the group stage of the competition.
JCT has already played four matches for the U20 side. It is the first youth national team that the defender has featured for.
Todibo showed his great potential in the rare showings for the first team this season, but he is unlikely to play a big role at Barca next season with Pique, Lenglet and Umtiti all ahead of him. Todibo started two league games and a friendly game against Girona in the SuperCopa de Catalunya.
