Barcelona are keeping tabs on 'Polish Jordi Alba' Michal Karbownik

The Catalans have long bee trying to find a proper competition for Jordi Alba at left-back.

In the latest turn of events, Wisla Krakow's revelation Michal Karbownik has emerged as a potential heir for the Spaniard, Mundo Deportivo report, citing Polish journalist Krzysztof Stanowski.

Quique Setien isn't convinced by Junior Firpo and sees the 17-year-old as a potentially better option.

The Catalans representatives were scouting Michal's Wisla teammate Aleksander Buksa and spotted the Poland U19-international.

However, Barcelona are far from the only team trying to land Karbownik. According to the same source, Tottenham, as well as La Liga sides Real Betis, Sevilla and Real Sociedad, are also keeping the tabs on the talented youngster.

Karbownik, who started in 17 out of 26 Krakow's clashes this season, can also feature in midfield.

Sevilla-based news outlet Estadio Deportivo suggested that Barcelona and Real Betis can repeat the 'Emerson formula' in Karbownik's case as well. The Player will be bought by two clubs simultaneously, joining Betis first and then going to Barca.
