Former Bayern and Italy forward Luca Toni was disappointed in Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portuguese failed to help Juventus in the Coppa Italia final against Napoli.
“It’s a defeat that also bears the signature of Cristiano Ronaldo,” he Toni said on Ronaldo's performance, as per Rai Uno. “The Portuguese is in difficulty physically and he can’t even dribble a man.
“Buffon was Juventus’ best player on the pitch.”
The Bianconeri lost 4-2 on penalties after the 90 minutes of the playing time ended in a goalless draw. Paulo Dybala and Danilo missed their efforts for Juve, while Napoli were flawless from the spot.
Despite playing the whole 90 minutes, Cristiano attempted 3 shots, only one of these on target. He hadn't get a chance to atone himself in the penalty shootout as it ended before his turn came.
As for dribbles, the Portuguese completed two take-ons out of attempted three.
For Ronaldo, this defeat must be especially painful since it's the first time in the 35-year-old loses in two consecutive finals after losing Supercopa to Lazio at the end of 2019.
Since the return to action last week, the Portuguese' s form has been abysmal with no goal contributions in 180 minutes. Both Juventus' games ended in 0-0 draws.
