Juan Miranda opens up on his future plans after Schalke terminate his loan

Juan Miranda has discussed his future plans with Cadena COPE as he returned to Barcelona after Schalke decided to terminate his initial two-year loan deal.

He said: "We will meet to see the plan that both my family and Barca have. Who does not want to be in the first team? Both my family and I, we are clear that since I am 20 years old, I have to play and if it is in Spain then better.

"Barca B would also be a good option if they go up [to the Spanish second tier]. We would have to talk about it."

Miranda was referring to the promotional play-offs which are due to be played later in July. Barca B need to win just three games to qualify for Segunda, Spanish second tier.

The 20-year-old defender only made 12 appearances for Schalke in all competitions this season, contributing one assist.

Originally, Barcelona viewed Miranda as Jordi Alba's potential replacement at the left-back position.
