Scientific study selects Messi as La Liga's best player ever, Cristiano 12th

• A scientific study carried out by CIHEFE (Soccer History and Statistics Research Centre, recognised by FIFA) proves that Leo Messi has been the best player in La Liga history.
• The criteria taken into account are the following: goal statistics (goals scored from open play, penalty goals, own goals), yellow cards and suspensions, starting XI appearances, international games played, and many more.
• The statistical centre analysed 9,724 football players who played in the Spanish top flight between 1928 and 2020.
• Interestingly, Cristiano Ronaldo is just in the 12th position.
