Even though the 21-year-old's playing time has increased significantly since the turn of the year, he's yet to become a regular starter under Ronald Koeman.

In general your analysis of the game  with  our Midfield is correct  however this depends on the opposition .

Most of the teams in LaLiga are average defensive  blocks when  they play  us anyway .
So  nobody  can convince me that against these teams we need Busquets and Pjanic , their virtually useless to the cause , we seen it last night with Pjanic .

Yes you're right about a proper defensive midfielder , badly needed .

Also against the best offensive teams  we should have  3 CDS  which would allow  for Riqui Puig  to be very effective in  and around the middle of the pitch .

I believe  Mr Pimienta  could  solve a lot of our  problems in a short time 

Koeman keeps getting the starting lineup wrong  , we're struggling against poor opposition ,  championship level in England ,  Riqui Puig is made to open these guys up .

Can you even hear what you are saying, do you know what a holding midfielder is and you would say pedri is more of a holding midflelder than puig, we lack that intensity in our midfield someone that breaks the line and gives it accurately, alot of offensive play but no killer pass instinct, which the whole midfielders has, but no line breaking passes, why do you think piug comes in any little minutes and he steals the show cause those line breaking passes that's what he gat, and if you talk about positional play then you need to watch the both of them well

I don't agree on the part of the defensive ability concerning Pedri and Puig. It is never true that Pedri has more defensive abilities than Puig. Barca against Athletico Madrid last season is when I acknowledged his defensive abilities. Pedri still has a long way to go but just that Koeman's bias selection has projected Pedri and perhaps he normally get lost when we play stronger teams. He is not that experienced upon all the game time he has gotten. Puig would have done better in fairness of game time.

Completely agree , Pedri is still  an Apprentice , he's  overplayed and overhyped  ,  he's got much to learn .
Riqui Puig  is older and more than ready to fill any role in midfield .

It's amazing how people talk about  Busquets and Pjanic  being  DMS  , these guys  can't  run  ,  can't pass  quickly  enough to open   the lines , can't protect the leaky defence , Pjanic yesterday  was  pathetic.
Then he brings Busquets on  when the play needed to be speeded up   ,  the man can't help making the wrong calls .

Puig is a very energetic player. If you watch him whenever he plays, he’s literally all over the pitch. Puig’s game requires a very solid defensive midfielder like Casmero of Madrid or Ndidi or Leicester city. 

Players that very physical and can cover the back well. 

We currently do not have that kind of player in our.  The closest is Sergio who’s now old and not as fast or strong as before.  

Pedri is more Defensive and better at positional play than Puig. That’s one major reason we can’t replace him with Puig.  

Yes, we should start them together. But that’s only when we have a solid defensive midfielder. 

De Jong is also very offensive and struggles to be the pivot. Because he’s adapted to his new offensive role.  

Koeman most times plays Pedri as a holding midfielder even when De Jon is in the field.  Eg yesterday after he took off Pjanic.  

The solution is to promote Oriol Busquets or Iliax or even okay Matheus for a change.  

That way, we can enjoy them all. 

But, for them to be promoted, this season has to end first.  Then we sell Pjanic and Coutinho to creat more space for them.  

Busquets can either retire or play from the bench.  

When Koeman leaves, because what Puig does he will not select him

well done Puig keep on doing ur best one day u will cement yourself in the  starting xi
