Cristiano Ronaldo sends Instagram message to Ansu Fati amid surgery rumours

"Come on Ansu Fati, you'll be back soon! Go for it! 🙏💪," Cristiano Ronaldo writes via Instagram, pinning the video of the 18-year-old training in the gym.

Cristiano spent some time commenting on Instagram Stories of players wearing Nike clothes, so perhaps that's one of the things he should do according to his current deal with the brand.

Anyway, it's special to hear something like that from the Portuguese. Ansu Fati may soon undergo his third knee surgery since his recovery is said to be far from its end.

Barca fan expels myth about Griezmann's poor form

Antoine Griezmann’s form at Barcelona this season has been the point of much debate, with certain fans not convinced with his output.

Frustrations on his consistency

A Barca fan Laplacian explained his frustrations with Griezmann’s performances and wrote on BarcaForum: “No one claims he disappears every game, which is why we have nicknames like ‘Huescamann’ and the like. We all (those who don't want him here) claim however he disappears in every important match we need to win.

“He shies away from the ball, the final third, and chance creation during high stress games and subsequently remains invisible and useless throughout the match, often compensating for his lack of contribution in the attack by role-playing as a CB.”

His performances much better than given credited for

However, another Barca Fan JamDave1982 explained why those accusations were just wrong and replied: “He doesn't shy from ball at all and is always showing for it and had plenty moments in both cup and league when stepped up as Barca needed him.

“Didn't shy away vs Sevilla in either cup game, set up one of best chances in game for Dembele away to Paris, even at home to Paris never shied and tried to make things happen. You make things up then say 'if you are happy with that'

“The nicknames mean and prove nothing but ignorance. Disappeared in both cup games v Sevilla? Or those not must win? Same with Granada or is that not must-win either? Late winner at home to Bilbao...tap in and not must win? Granada away in the league not must-win when scores twice and assists another? Sociedad away not must-win when scored opener.. tap in right?

“Every Supercup games that were taken seriously and folk freaked out when beaten.. two goals in final v Bilbao and assist against Sociedad. 'Shies away from ball' yet has goals/assist stats only behind Messi/Lewandowski and Benzema this year and not on pens/free kicks.”

Surprisingly impressive stats

Barca fan Catta also exposed the hypocrisy around Griezmann’s output, writing: “Griezmann this season(transition season), all competitions: 40 games,14 g, 11 a. David Villa, 2010/11 season(considered by many the best ever team, surrounded by the best midfield ever), 52 games, 23 g, 11 a.

“One is considered having a s*** season(while playing in maybe the worst Barca team in the past 10-15 years), while the other is remembered as being great. “Griezmann needs 9 more goal contributions to equal Villas best season for Barca, in a much worse team, where every position is a downgrade compared to 2011, and with an inferior manager, and people still s*** on him.”

After a relatively slow start to the season, Griezmann has recovered well in recent months and scored two goals in Barca’s last three La Liga games.
