'Behave': Barca fan defends Leo Messi's 2014 World Cup run with one telling picture

Lionel Messi and Argentina narrowly finished runner-up at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Regardless, Messi has received stick from purists and critics for not doing enough to help Argentina win the World Cup.

A Barca fan @RyanDMi on Twitter have dug up Messi's underrated performance at that tournament, judging from the quality of players available to La Albiceleste at the time.

It must be noted that Messi scored 4 goals and was named Man of the Match in 5 of the 7 games he played at that tournament. He also won the golden ball for best player.

Here's how Argentina's squad in the World Cup final looked like, Romero, Zabaleta, Demichelis, Garay, Rojo, Biglia, Mascherano, Pérez, Higuaín, Messi, Lavezzi.

Do you think these players were world-beaters back in 2014? How many of these names can you still remember?

'We decided it was the best': Pep Guardiola not fazed with Aguero's departure from Manchester City

Pep Guardiola says it wasn't difficult to see Aguero's back after 10 years at Man City.

The gaffer states that City have young strikers who can carry the scoring burden at the Etihad.

Speaking to Man City website, Pep said: “Sergio Aguero leaving wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t hard, I want to have a good relationship with all the players, especially Sergio, and I tried to be honest. We decided it was the best for the future, for the club.”

“We have Gabriel Jesus, Ferran Torres, who played incredibly this season in this position, we have young players in the academy, we play many times with a false nine.”

Aguero has been heavily linked to Barca but Guardiola's latest comments raises the question of whether the striker can still perform consistently at the highest level.

Aguero will leave Manchester City as a free agent after scoring 257 goals in 384 games for the Citizens.

Do you think Aguero still has what it takes to do well for a club like Barca?

Messi robbed? Benzema wins LaLiga Player of the Month prize despite recording fewer goal contributions

Karim Benzema has won LaLiga's Player of the Month award.

The Frenchman scored 5 goals and registered one assist in 3 games last month, missing the Real Sociedad clash through injury.

Leo Messi, in turn, bagged 4 goals and recorded 4 assists in 3 La Liga fixtures in March.

The Argentine has won the prize just once this season – in February, when he scored all of Barca's 5 games.
