VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS: Rating Barca performance in Copa del Rey final 📹

1st half

Despite a rapid start from the Catalans (Frenkie de Jong hit the post already in the 5th minute of the game), Ronald Koeman's side didn't create much in front of Athletic's goal. Bilbao felt comfortable at the back and tried to give as little space as possible to Barca attackers.

Blaugrana attempted just one shot on target which turned into an easy save for Unai Simon.

However, it's worth a mention that Barca didn't let the opposition create chances either.

First-half rating: 5/10

2nd half

Things got much better for Barcelona after the break as Marcelino changed his team's formation and replaced Iker Muniain with defender Inigo Lekue.

Antoine Griezmann, Sergio Busquets and Pedri all had their clear-cut scoring chances but converted none of them. After that, Barca took just 12 minutes to score 4 goals – mostly thanks to Frenkie de Jong's brilliant display in the midfield and upfront.

Although Bilbao had a few chances to score at the end of the game, they failed to convert them and Barca secured a clean sheet.

Second-half rating: 10/10

Full-time rating: 8/10

Griezmann: 'I might waste passes or goals but I'm always doing my best'

"I love my teammates. I might waste passes or goals, but I'm doing my best and I think that's important. I want the best for this club," Antoine Griezmann told the media after the 4-0 win against Athletic Bilbao in Copa del Rey.

Despite missing a sitter early in the second half, the Frenchman found the net minutes later with a beautiful one-touch finish.

The 30-year-old has had an impressive Copa del Rey campaign, scoring 3 goals and recording 4 assists in 6 games.

De Jong 9.5, Messi 9: rating Barca players in Copa del Rey win

  • Frenkie de Jong — 9.5

An absolute masterclass from the Dutch maestro against Athletic Bilbao. The midfielder played a perfect game, scoring a goal and providing two brilliant assists. Frenkie didn't put a foot wrong tonight.

  • Leo Messi — 9

Two goals and a pre-assist, what more can you ask of your captain? Messi was at his best in the Copa del Rey final and created chances even in the first half when Barcelona's game wasn't going as smoothly.

  • Gerard Pique — 8.5

It was risky to play Pique from the start, but he didn't disappoint. Not even Inaki Williams with his crazy speed could get past Geri, who led the backline to an impressive performance.

  • Antoine Griezmann — 8.5

The game wasn't a usual one for Griezmann as he didn't have the ball perhaps as much as he'd have liked to, but he did his job, which was to open the score. Besides, Antoine helped a lot defensively, which is vital against a team as aggressive as the Basques.

  • Sergio Busquets — 8

Just like Pique, Busquets is one of the unexpected heroes of the final. Despite the criticism, Sergio delivered a great performance tonight, doing everything asked of him and even more. He was unlucky not to open the score early in the second half though.

Others: Ter Stegen — 7.5, Mingueza — 8, Lenglet — 8, Dest — 7, Pedri — 7.5, Alba — 8, S.Roberto — 7, Ilaix — n/a, Dembele — n/a, Braithwaite — n/a.
