Barca B boss Pimienta: 'I was and I am ready to coach the first team'

"I was and I am ready to coach the [Barca] first team. It would not be realistic if I'm not prepared and work daily during matches and training in case the first team needs me one day. It's my intention and enthusiasm, although I consider it very difficult," Barcelona B coach Garcia Pimienta has told Beteve.

Pimienta has been part of La Masia since 2006. One of his latest achievements is leading Barca B to Segunda Division B play-offs. This season, his side could potentially secure a Segunda spot.

Xavi's new deal with Al Sadd to include 'Barca clause': AS

Xavi Hernandez has agreed to commit his future to Al Sadd on a new two-year deal, according to Diario AS. The contract is set to be signed in the next few days.

Even though the 41-year-old is set to spend the next two seasons at the Qatari side, his new deal will include a 'Barca clause' which would allow him to leave the club if the Catalans come calling.

Xavi has won six trophies, including the Qatar Stars League, since taking over at Al Sadd in 2019.

The Barca legend remains heavily linked with a return to Camp Nou but it looks like Ronald Koeman will stay at the helm of the Blaugrana beyond the summer.
