Barca eye Atalanta's Gosens as main competitor for Alba, 2 more names on the list (reliability: 4 stars)

Barcelona will look to strengthen the left-back position this summer to offer more competition to Jordi Alba, and Atalanta's left wing-back Robin Gosens is their top priority, Diario Sport's reliable Lluis Miguelsanz reports.

The German would be perfect for Ronald Koeman's set-up as he plays as a wing-back for Atalanta, but he can also be deployed in a more defensive role at left-back.

This term so far, Gosens has recorded 12 goals and 8 assists in 43 matches.

Gosens' contract with the Bergamese runs until 2022, although the club have the option to extend the deal for another season. However, the 26-year-old reportedly wants to join a bigger side in Europe, and Atalanta would be ready to sell him for around €40m. They could also accept a swap deal.

Barca's other options at left-back are Jose Gaya (Valencia) and Angelino (RB Leipzig), with the former expected to be placed on the market this summer.

Initially, the plan was to sell Junior Firpo and have La Masia talent Alex Balde as Alba's back-up. However, the bad results and Jordi's possible departure motivate Barca to look for an option that could slot right into the starting XI at Camp Nou.

Junior Firpo attracts interest from Italy, Barca slap price tag (reliability: 4 stars)

Junior Firpo is one of the likeliest players to leave Barcelona this summer, and three teams from Serie A are said to be interested, Mundo Deportivo's reliable Gabriel Sans reports.

It's said that the Catalans want to get at least €31m in return for the player, which is the amount they spent on Firpo in the first place.

The three interested teams are reported to be Inter Milan, AC Milan and Napoli, although the Nerazzurri could decide to drop out of the race due to the player's value.

Besides, Sans adds that the 24-year-old could receive some offers from La Liga as well, especially after being approached by Granada and Huesca in January.

As for the player himself, Firpo reportedly understands that he might be one of the first players to leave, but he doesn't exclude the idea of staying for another season in case the incoming offers don't satisfy Barca.
