'There are a lot of talks': Laporta silences rumours regarding Messi contract and other transfers

"We know that there are a lot of talks about Messi's future. The new contract for Messi is going well, but it's not done yet," President Joan Laporta said during his press conference on Friday.

"We hope that it will be accepted by the player. Our relationship is very good. Messi loves Barca, of course, we all want him to continue.

"Messi is excited by the project. I'm moderately optimistic about his renewal," Laporta added.

Speaking on new transfers, Laporta said: "Next week we'll talk about new additions to the team."

At least four players are expected to be announced as Barcelona players next week. The list includes Sergio Aguero, Gini Wijnaldum and Eric Garcia.
