Meticulous Ospina spends 2 minutes setting up wall before saving Messi's free-kick – caught on camera

David Ospina was one of the main reasons why Argentina were held to a 2-2 draw at Colombia in the 2022 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday night.

The Napoli goalkeeper saved three attempts from Lionel Messi to keep the Barcelona icon quiet in Barranquilla.

It took Ospina no less than two minutes to set up the wall before Leo's first free-kick attempt.

As you can see in the screenshots, David had begun his meticulous preparations for Messi's shot in the 42nd minute before eventually denying his attempt two minutes later.

Messi looked quite irritated by Ospina's save but the worst came in the second half as Miguel Borja netted an equalizer in the 93rd minute of the game.

Ospina makes 3 incredible saves to stop Messi from scoring as Colombia draw Argentina in World Cup qualifier

Argentina couldn't claim all three points against Colombia in the 2022 World Cup qualifier as Lionel Messi and Co. drew Reinaldo Rueda's side 2-2 on Tuesday night.

The Barcelona captain played all 90 minutes but failed to contribute to either of Albiceleste's goals.

On the other hand, the 33-year-old could've netted a hat-trick against Colombia if it wasn't David Ospina who stoped two incredible free-kicks from Leo before saving his late attempt from open play.

Messi and his teammate will definitely be disappointed with this draw as Colombia made it 2-2 in the 93rd minute thanks to Miguel Borja's header.

Moreover, the Albiceleste were 2-0 up after the opening 10 minutes but were held to a draw in Barranquilla.

That was a second consecutive draw for Lionel Scaloni's men as they also shared points with Chile (1-1) last week.

The Albiceleste are now second in their 2022 WC qualifying group, six points behind Brazil, with 11 games to go.

'Forget about Messi, he's no longer the same': Ex-Colombia star ahead of Argentina game

"It's going to be hard against Argentina. Against them, it's always like a final for us but we have to go out and show ourselves," former Colombia forward Adolfo Valencia has told Caracol Radio.

"Colombia must forget about Messi, he is no longer the same as before," he added.

What a bold statement that is, especially after Leo's stunning first half of 2021 and his outstanding performance against Chile a few days ago.

Argentina will face Colombia away from home in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers tonight at 01:00 CET.

Colombia... aren't doing great so far.
