Official: Barcelona set date for pre-season start

Barcelona's 2021/22 pre-season camp will start on July 9 and 10 with players arriving for their medical examinations before holding their first training session on July 12, the club have just confirmed.

As the European Championship and the Copa America end on July 10 and 12 respectively, a number of Barca's first-team players are likely to return to Catalonia only at the end of July.

"Leaving Barcelona? It's hard to talk about it now. I'm spending holidays with my family and that's all I'm thinking about at the moment," Miralem Pjanic has said in an interview with Federalna televizija.

"Preparations for the new season start in July and then I'll join the team. We'll see what happens later."

The Bosnian's move from Juventus cost the Catalans €60m last summer. Pjanic is yet to become a regular starter at Camp Nou mainly because he doesn't suit Ronald Koeman's playing system.

As per reports, the Bianconeri are interested in taking the 31-year-old back to Turin in the coming weeks while Barca's sporting area have advised Mirallem to find himself a new club since Koeman will continue at the helm of the club.

Pjanic is now valued at €28m by Transfermarkt.

Miralem Pjanic's representatives were in Barcelona on Friday, according to reliable Miguel Rico.

Barcelona's sporting director Mateu Alemany has assured that the club would do everything possible to find the Bosnian a new team.

Earlier, it was reported that the 31-year-old could re-join Juventus on loan.

Meanwhile, credible Gerard Romero claims that Barca had talks with some other Serie A sides except for Juventus.

Everything indicates that the experienced midfielder will leave the club in the summer.
