'A monster': Griezmann presses 4 Germany players, finishes move with impeccable tackle

Antoine Griezmann has never been your conventional attacker. While being great going forward, the Barcelona player is also extremely good in defence, as he once again proved in the Euro 2020 match against Germany.

84h minute, Griezmann looks to put pressure on Germany's centre-back

Loses the aerial duel but doesn't give up

Presses third player in a single run

Finishes off with an impeccable sliding tackle

"Griezmann's pressing ... (it's the 8th minute). He is a monster!" Twitter user HanifBerKane says.

Although he didn't score, Griezmann played a big part in France defeating Germany 1-0. Next, Les Bleus are set to face Hungary on June 19 in Group F.

Lenglet defends Griezmann from criticism, claims he's among world's best

"Antoine Griezmann is a very important player for Barcelona, who made us change games, especially in the Copa del Rey. It was a positive season despite everything for Antoine, who is not always judged reasonably," Clement Lenglet has told L'Equipe.

"He (Griezmann) has the label of one of the best players in the world and the requirements are very high for him."

In comparison to his first year at Camp Nou, the 2020/21 season has been a solid one for Griezmann. The 30-year-old had a slow start to the season but improved with time and ended up playing 51 games and recording 20 goals and 12 assists.

'You send him a melon, he turns it into caviar!': Griezmann on playing with Messi

"[Our relationship is] good. We get along well. We sometimes write messages to each other, we communicate a lot in training," Antoine Griezmann has said of Lionel Messi in an interview with L'Equipe.

"On the pitch, he's obviously a super easy player to play with. You send him a melon, he turns it into caviar! We don't have that pressure to miss a pass with him.

"In the game, things get better and better. This year, it was a bit complicated because we had a lot of injuries and we played in a system where everyone was not necessarily in their best position. But we are going to start a new season with new recruits, it will go better."

Griezmann's relationship with Messi has been questioned ever since the Frenchman's move to Barcelona from Atletico Madrid in 2019. The pair, however, continue to prove it wrong on the pitch as they scored 20 and 38 goals for the Catalans in the 2020/21 season respectively.
