'Huge marketing boon': Real Madrid fan explains why he'd actually love to see Ronaldo at Barca

When asked who he'd like to see at Barca most - Ronaldo, Ramos or Zidane - Real Madrid supporter and Reddit user InternationalTop4 has named the legendary Portuguese.

Here's how he explains his choice.

"Ramos and Zidane would both help Barcelona fix problems they're facing, whereas Ronaldo would be a huge marketing boon, but would create a host of new problems for any club trying to have both Messi and Ronaldo on their wage bill.

"Also just as a fan of football, I'd love to one day see both Messi and Ronaldo play together. A strike partnership of Ronaldo and Messi would be so f***ing fun to watch."

Well, this is quite a statement from a fan who used to watch Ronaldo score plenty of different goals against Barca.

According to the latest rumours, Joan Laporta 'dreams' of uniting Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi at Barca. The Portuguese is reportedly unhappy about his season with Juventus and could consider leaving the club in the summer.

What Messi replied when asked if he'd like to play in one team with Ronaldo

"I think he [Cristiano] will definitely be one of [the best players ever], it will be difficult to top that," Leo Messi said at the Ballon d'Or ceremony in 2015.

"But yes I'd obviously love to play [with him]. I have been fortunate enough to be able to play with many good players and obviously, I would love to play with him," the Argentine added.

What Cristiano Ronaldo said on possibly joining Barca back in 2015

Back in 2015 when he was still playing for Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo was asked in his interview with The Associated Press whether he would ever play for Barcelona. Surprisingly, he didn't rule it out.

"It's a little more difficult, but... There are things that you kind of already have an idea, that to play one day for Barcelona would be almost impossible, or to play for another English club other than Manchester United, it's very complicated," Ronaldo said, as quoted by ESPN.

"But that's not 100 per cent guaranteed. As I said before, there are no certainties in football," he concluded.

Meanwhile, Diario AS say that Joan Laporta wants Ronaldo to team up with Leo Messi at Camp Nou next season. The Catalans would reportedly be willing to include two players in a swap deal to land the 36-year-old, with Antoine Griezmann, Sergi Roberto and Philippe Coutinho all made available for Juventus.
