Both Barcelona and AS Roma are interested in signing the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria, Diario Sport claim.
The 24-year-old contract with the German side expires next summer, meaning that he would be available on a free transfer.
What's more, Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport say that Roma's interest is more pronounced, so Barca would need to step up if they want to land Zakaria. The midfielder has reportedly decided not to extend his contract amid interest from the big clubs.
Denis mainly plays as a defensive midfielder. Diario Sport say that Zakaria is good at winning the ball back and covering a lot of ground, although he has to improve his passing.
This term so far, he's recorded two goals and an assist in five matches for Gladbach.
