Revealed: Barca to miss out on hefty sum if they don't reach UCL knockout stage

When planning the budget for 2021/22, Barcelona assumed that they will reach the Champions League quarter-finals at least. However, not making it out of the group would mean a loss of €20.2m, Diario Sport claim.

In order to advance to the knockout stage, Barcelona need to beat Bayern Munich away. Another option would be for Dynamo Kyiv not to lose to Benfica in Portugal.

Finishing in third would mean that Barca go to the Europa League. The winner of the competition would earn €14.9m.

The Catalans will take on Bayern away on Wednesday, December 8. Kick off is at 9:00 pm CET.
