'Some talks made me emotional': Xavi confirms he spoke to Puig and 3 more players about their future

Xavi has confirmed he talked to Samuel Umtiti, Riqui Puig, Martin Braithwaite and Oscar Mingueza about their future.

"It is important to talk to them so that they have enough time [to look for other options]. You have to be honest, go straight ahead and make your intentions known as a club," the Barca boss said.

Xavi also noted that he talked to 'someone else' to make it clear that he doesn't count on them.

"Some talks made me emotional, the players were thanking me. Decisions are sometimes hard, but you have to be very clear."

Barcelona are also expected to part ways with Clement Lenglet, Adama Traore and Luuk de Jong.
