Italian club interested in Riqui Puig, player would fit coach's demands perfectly (reliability: 4 stars)

Lazio are interested in signing Riqui Puig on loan, Diario Sport report.

Their coach, Maurizio Sarri, is looking for an attacking midfielder and feels that the Barcelona player would fit the profile. The Italian team is also interested in former Blaugrana Denis Suarez but his signing would be more difficult.

Lazio are ready to pay the majority of his salary. However, the problem is that Puig's contract expires next year, and Barca would have to extend his contract before sending him out on loan.

Xavi doesn't count on the 22-year-old for next season and has told Riqui he is free to not show up for pre-season. In the 2021/22 season, Riqui played just 544 minutes across 18 matches, scoring one goal.
