Real reason behind Roma's Gamper Cup withdrawal named – it has to do with PSG president

AS Roma have cancelled their Joan Gamper Trophy participation for The European Club Association and Paris Saint-Germain asked them to do it, reports Corriere dello Sport.

The PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has privately asked the Serie A side not to organise friendly matches with the 'rebel' European Super League clubs – Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus.

Barcelona now consider suing Roma for their withdrawal after the game was announced already. Milan are expected to be Barca's new Joan Gamper opponent.
