'Lower your salary, b****': fans filmed insulting Frenkie de Jong in the streets

Upon the Dutchman's arrival at Ciudad Deportiva, one club supporter has been filmed yelling: "Lower your salary, b*tch."

We can't say for sure that Frenkie heard the fan, but his facial expression is definitely not on the happy side.

The fact is, De Jong has a contract with Barca until 2026, which means he has every right to stay until then - without a salary cut. 

Barca can try to convince the player to accept a pay cut or leave, out of goodwill. They can only force him to reduce his salary if they have tenable evidence of wrongdoing in the contract he signed in 2020 - under ex-president Bartomeu. 

De Jong, Ter Stegen, Lenglet could be forced to pay money back to Barcelona if contracts voided

 to court over the contract renewals they signed in 2020 under Bartomeu's regime.

The lawyers have found 'signs of criminality' in these deals and could recommend filing a lawsuit against Bartomeu and his board.

This could see the court ruling these contracts null and void. In this case, the players would have to pay back the difference between their previous deals and the money they received from Barcelona under these deals.

 has also renewed his contract alongside these three players but he has already agreed to sign a new deal with a reduced salary. Therefore, he won't have to give the money back.

According to Onda Cero, Barcelona have spent €311m in extra costs to cover the four players' salaries.

His Deferred salary which he has worked for and earned since 2019, 16M Euros, has not even been paid because he entered an agreement with Bartomeu in 2020 to defer it from 2022 to 2026 in which case he will be paid 4M per year in addition to his improved wages for the extended contract years. 

Barca are currently targeting that extended contract to void it. And by voiding it, they are trying to extinguish his right to be paid what was already due since 2020.

 Barca are saying they won't pay that deferred wages and the other improved wages and huge bonuses for that extended contract period. 

So what we will identify as extreme in this posture will be the attempt to avoid paying the deferred salary which he ought to be paid and then voiding the improved contract and huge bonuses altogether.  

It is not his fault that the monies were tied up in the extended contract. It was his gesture during the pandemic that is responsible for that. 

What Barca ought to do is to exclude his deferred salary from their plan to void it, and then renegotiate the terms of the extended contract with him so that he can either remove or significantly reduce those huge loyalty bonuses & performance bonuses. And then propose a pay cut of his current 14M a year wage, within the current salary structure that will see his earnings improve fairly over the course of his contract.

The only fair thing here is ti exclude the deferred wages from  termination and renegotiate the rest of the extended contract, both the improved wages and the huge bonuses that accompany it. 

By the way, Each player's contract is unique. There is therefore no basis for comparison.

Like I said before each player's preferences for the performance of their contract is unique to them. 

When I said Barca should exclude the deferred payment I am aware that Barca may not have the funds to pay the sum, but it doesn't stop Barca from proposing a further deferment of the already deferred wages. And I reckon for Frankie to agree to that, he will call in some benefits too like he did with Bartomeu. 

Can you remember when it was mooted that Messi would defer his salary to a period when he is no longer a player for the club, but plying his trade in the USA? 

That's a great example of mutual understanding and a very generous one, because it allows the club to redirect scarce resources to more pressing needs. 

I should say at this point that under the law, financial liabilities are automatically entitled to be paid with interest when the liquidation cannot be realized at the due date. 

So, instead of asking for interests, players seek improved wage or improved performance bonuses if they are in a position to confer a financial advantage on the club by deferring the collection of what is due to them under the contract and also under the law.

De Jong is money hungry, Barca can’t afford you at the moment and still refuse to leave the club. I really do not understand this guy
