Xavi's best XI and best formation after 8 games shown in lineup

Barcelona have won six of their first eight games this season, losing just the game against Bayern Munich.

With the season now interrupted by the international break, here's a look at what Xavi's best lineup and formation so far:

Formation: Xavi has stuck with the 4-3-3 so far. It's yielding results so there's no need to change it.

Defence

Alex Balde has unseated Jordi Alba and is now the favourite at left-back. However, there will be rotations, as Xavi has stated, with Marcos Alonso getting a chance as seen against Bayern.

Regardless of his complaints, Xavi prefers Jules Kounde at right-back rather than Bellerin or Sergi Roberto.

The centre-back pairing is Ronald Araujo and Eric Garcia or Andreas Christensen - Xavi will often rotate between Christensen and the Spaniard.

Ter Stegen is undisputed in goal.

Midfield

Frenkie De Jong may gradually be unseating Sergio Busquets in that CDM role. Still, Busquets provides a lot of quality and experience when chosen - that means he'll start a lot of games.

Pedri and Gavi will start in central and attacking midfield respectively as often as possible. Franck Kessie is a good substitute.

Attack

Xavi's first choice front-three is Raphinha-Lewandowski-Dembele. Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati and Memphis Depay are their backups.

As we have seen so far, Memphis may climb ahead of Ferran in the pecking order if he can continue the form showed against Elche.
