The closer the Mallorca game, the more questions on the starting line-up arise. Due to the recent injury history, Xavi has to come up with imaginative solution to fix a defensive injury crisis.
Garcia on the right, new role for Raphinha
As we previously mentioned, Eric Garcia, Gerard Pique and Andreas Christensen would form a back three while Raphinha could be used as a right wing-back.
Sergi Roberto
This is probably the most obvious solution. However, Roberto has spent the last few games off the pitch due to injury and may be far from his best form.
The academy player
There is a slight chance Xavi turns to the academy. The clearest option, in that case, would be Alvaro Nuñez, the 22-year-old right-back who joined Barca B on a free transfer from Bilbao this summer.
