Diario Sport's reputable Ferran Correas confirms the report from Marca that Barcelona are ‘in no hurry' to extend the contract of Alejandro Balde.
However, they would prefer to solve the matter before the end of the season, the Catalan outlet report. Barca have already met Balde's agent, Jorge Mendes, for opening talks. More negotiations are expected in the future.
The Catalans aren't worried about losing the left-back for now since he has a contract until 2024 and a release clause of €500m. Besides, the 18-year-old is only thinking about continuing at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Barca seemingly want to reward Balde for his recent breakthrough, and the new contract is expected to be signed on improved terms.
This term so far, Balde has recorded three assists in five matches for Barca. He's had a prominent role despite having to compete with the more experienced Jordi Alba and Marcos Alonso for the starting spot.
