Xavi: 'I knew Kounde would be extraordinary signing'

Jules Kounde put in another brilliant display against Athletic on Sunday. The defender made two interceptions and five ball recoveries and recorded a 98% pass accuracy.

Xavi has explained why he prioritised signing the Frenchman in the summer.

"I'm not surprised by his performances," the Barca head coach said.

"I insisted on signing him because I knew he was an extraordinary signing. He has excellent ball control, he is good in the air, he is an example in the locker room and he is young. He is a great signing."
