'I found great players that were stubborn to change': Setien on his spell at Barca

"At Barcelona, I found great players that were stubborn to change. I wish I took over Barcelona in a different situation. But I knew that if I didn’t take the opportunity then, I’d never be able to manage them," Quique Setien has told Onda Cero (h/t Barca Universal).

Setien's stint at Camp Nou was short-lived. He coached the team for 25 games and was sacked after the 8-2 loss to Bayern Munich, failing to win a single title.

As per reports, the coaching staff had a tense relationship with the players, especially the veterans. It was said that many didn't understand why Setien was appointed in the first place as his CV was nothing special.

The 64-year-old has recently returned to coaching, being appointed at Villarreal.
