Spotted: Samuel Eto'o hands out Ballon d'Or to best Cameroonian footballer in 2022

, the award for the best player is known as the Ballon d'Or. So don't get it confused with the award 

Here's Eto'o giving the award to Souaibou: 

Eto'o is the reigning Cameroon FA president and he's been doing a great job in the role in the past year.

 has been sentenced to 22 months of suspended prison and will have to pay four fines adding up to €1.8m after admitting to tax fraud in court, Diario Sport claim. 

The Cameroonian admitted to having defrauded €3.8m from the Spanish Public Treasury during his time at 

"I recognize these deeds and I am going to pay, but let it be known that I was a child then and that I always did what my father asked me to do," Eto'o has said.

Samuel has blamed the infractions on Jose Maria Mesalles, his agent at the time, someone who he described as a second father. The ex-footballer has even filed a lawsuit against him. 

Mesalles has also been found guilty as part of the same lawsuit. He has received one year of suspended prison and a fine in the region of €900,000.

Eto'o was mandated to pay an allowance of €1,400 per month to Erika. However, the Cameroonian icon has so far refused to pay a dime to the young lady and her mother Adileusa. 

"I don't care if the mother and child die, leave me alone," Eto'o was quoted as saying about the saga, as per Marca. 

The ex-striker is now owing Erika and her mother a staggering €40,000 in unpaid allowances. 

"He has never given her anything. He has not given the girl even a lollipop, not even with the court ruling," Adileusa told La Vanguardia. 

Back in 2004, a court also ruled that Eto'o was the biological father of Anna Barranca's daughter Annie. Eto'o and Barranca enjoyed a 3-month relationship before they split.

Yeah he is. 
If CAF can have a BALLON D'OR AWARD for African Players in addition to the African Footballer of the Year, it would make great sense just as the FIFA WORLD BEST is separate from the Ballon D'or.

But you do realize Balon d’ or is worldwide and not just for the European team right? CAF= UEFA!

Yeah, I do! 
I was proposing that CAF appropriate the name "BALLON D'OR" and link it with the Award for the Best African Footballer of the year. 

You know France Football Magazine, the Conferrer of that Prestigious Award used to have an Award similar to a Ballon D'or award strictly for the African Footballer of the Year which was called "The African Footballer of the Year Golden Ball Award". 

And it was bestowed on African Players (The Best) between 1970 and 1994 by France Football magazine. 

Yeah, so, in that sense, CAF could reinstate the award and call it THE CAF/BALLON D'OR AWARD. 

The only problem I imagine will arise is a Copyright and Trademark issue with France Football unless CAF devises a plan in conjunction with them to work around it.

Eto'o is clearly putting his experience at the benefit of Cameroon an African football. if only all other African legends could do same maybe our African leagues could be more attractive to watch
