you want to use alonso to play in big matches especially against team that plays the high line and presses so further up the pitch?

No doubt he has been in form but against which teams? look at his play against bigger teams he has flopped also with bellerin. Barcelona should not for once think of not signing another defender because of Alonso's form this will be a big mistake. we need to fortify our defence especially in the position and the right back!

@ Vallery40, if you read carefully, I suggested that we don’t need to focus on signing a defender in January since Alonso can be the 5th choice 🤌🏼

I never said he should start all matches or play all the big games, and I stated my reasons which are: Balde and Alba having more game time and us being able to fortify the right side of defence instead. We can then wait till summer to sign a centre defender.

Let’s try to read well before we comment on all post please.

To be honest Alonso has been very decent in the left side of our center defense. He is a good option when we don’t have Araujo, Kounde, Garcia and Christensen to play. This will help us scout well for better options for thy position in the summer.

Having Alonso available to play in the center also gives room for Balde to have more game time on the left and a sense of belonging to Alba as he would get more minutes.

Let’s channel our energy to the right back or bring back Dest to compete with Roberto. 

Nevertheless, I don’t think Alonso’s contract should be renewed long term… Another one year + option of another year would make sense.

Alonso have been very Good at the CB position so far this season but the ill comment am seeing here shows how ungrateful some Barcelona fans are... At least give him the credit for covering up when we have no one to do it, both him and De Jong played a very good game against osasuna despite not being a natural CB, we should try to appreciate what we have b4 losing them not losing them b4 we know how important they are just like the case of jutgla. 


Secondly i was saying we should give ferran Torres time to gain more confidence most people here came for my head, have u all realised how important he is for the team? hes a game changer and causes more threat to opposition defence more than any of our attakers because of his positioning.
lets all stop all this criticism please, we are not Chelsea fans and thats what makes us different from all other fans base.
