Araujo officially included in Uruguay's World Cup squad despite injury

Uruguay have confirmed that Ronald Araujo is one of the 26 players that will travel to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup.

Barcelona legend Luis Suarez has received the call-up as well.

The issue is, however, that Araujo is still recovering from the surgery he underwent back in September.

The centre-back worked hard to make it in time for the tournament. He is not fully fit yet and, as per reports, will return to the pitch only in the knockout matches if Uruguay advance.

The South American team have been placed in Group H with Portugal, Ghana, and South Korea.
