The highly-credible Gerard Romero has reported that Lionel Messi is closer to not renewing his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. "Winning the World Cup changed his mind".
The Argentine is out of contract with the French side at the end of the season. It had given way to speculations that Leo could potentially return to Barca as a free agent.
As you might remember, Joan Laporta practically ruled out this move with the club’s Financial Fair Play situation being as it is.
Furthermore, it was widely reported that Messi and PSG had already reached an agreement in principle to continue in Paris.
But Romero has now dropped a huge bombshell, stating that, as things stand, Messi is closer to not renewing his contract with PSG.
The journalist, however, clarifies that this does not mean that the seven-time Ballon d’Or is moving back to Camp Nou as there are plenty of other suitors eager to land the greatest player in the world at their club.
