Copa del Rey calendar to be changed if Barca are drawn against Real Madrid: explained

Since both Barcelona and Real Madrid have a busy calendar, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) might be forced to change the dates for the Copa del Rey semi-finals in case the two La Liga giants are drawn against each other.

Thus, Barca will play the first leg on February 7-9 and the second leg on March 1-3 if they are drawn against Osasuna or Athletic Bilbao, as per previous plans.

However, COPE claim that the games will be rescheduled for March 1 and April 5 respectively in case they are drawn against Real Madrid.

RFEF need both teams to be available mid-week which is difficult considering that they are both involved in European competitions (and Madrid also have the Club World Cup in February).
