Gerard Romero keeps on insisting that Leo Messi could actually leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.
"He has not signed a new contract. Now he is exploring his options: a return to Argentina, playing in the MLS or signing for Barcelona.
"Xavi is fully prepared for Messi's potential comeback," the reporter has told TUDN.
Other credible sources are mostly convinced that the Argentine will stay at PSG beyond this season. Some of them note that there is a verbal agreement between the 35-year-old and the Parisian club already.
Messi's current deal with PSG expires in July, so he is currently free to discuss his future with other clubs.
The football legend has scored 13 goals and provided 14 assists in 21 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain this season.
