'I'm waiting for what the club wants to do to me': Messi apologises to PSG for going to Saudi Arabia after loss

"I thought we were going to have a day off after the game as always. I had this trip organized and I couldn't cancel it. I had already canceled it before," Leo Messi has said in a fresh statement.

"I apologise to my teammates, the club, and I'm waiting for what the club wants to do with me," the Argentine added.

Earlier, Paris Saint-Germain suspended Messi from training and matches following his family trip to Saudi Arabia. The 35-year-old may never wear the PSG jersey again this season.

Messi is expected to leave the Parisians and find himself a new club in the summer. The Argentine is being linked to a Barcelona comeback, as well as to Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal and David Beckham-owned Inter Miami.
