A court in Spain has ruled that the de-registration of Gavi from La Liga in March was flat-out wrong, according to COPE. Hence, Gavi's registration in La Liga is now OFFICIAL. His release clause is set at €1B with the contract to run until 2026.
After Barcelona registered Gavi in February, La Liga dragged Barca to a court in Barcelona claiming his registration as a first-team player shouldn't be allowed.
The court then decided to overturn Gavi's new contract registration citing that Barca's appeal didn't come quickly enough.
However, after another review of the documents and time stamps today, it has been discovered that Barca did submit their appeal on time and Gavi's registration shouldn't have been overturned.
Thus, Gavi's contract is now registered with immediate effect regardless of Barca's wage bill problems.
Gavi can now return to his no. 6 shirt and Barca can stop worrying about losing the player for free this summer. If there was any worry at all.
