"We are working on a super tribute [to Messi]. The opening day of the new Spotify Camp Nou would be perfect," Joan Laporta has revealed to Onze, via Fabrizio Romano.
Barcelona are expected to come back to Camp Nou in November 2024. However, the construction works will continue after that, with their finish planned for the 2025/26 season.
Laporta reportedly negotiated the details of the tribute match with Leo Messi's father when the Argentine's comeback was still on the table.
Messi will sign a one-year deal with Inter Miami with the option of extending it for one more year. It is possible that he will hang his boots right after playing his tribute match for Barcelona.
